2001 SOUTH DAKOTA ELKS RAFFLE PROGRAMS

As our membership continues to decrease, if we want to maintain our State committee budgets and major projects (Children’s Home Society and the Children’s Care Hospital and School) commitments we need to supplement our state revenues. Another reason is to help pay Ritual expenses on the state level and to help with the expenses of our State Ritual Champions to attend Grand Lodge competition. Finally, these raffle revenues do help fund our other committees that help the youth, the veterans and the elderly.

2001 ELKS RAFFLE RULES AND CHANGES

Lodges must sell 25% of allotted tickets to qualify for "Lodge incentives, free membership to Top Lodge Seller (paid by State Elks Association), and ritual prizes." Individual buyers will still be included in the drawings to qualify for cash prizes.

An early incentive of $1000 (prorated) will be offered to Lodges who sell or purchase their allotted tickets by June 15, 2001 (postmarked no later than this date). If more than one Lodge qualifies the incentive will be divided equally. In 2000, Aberdeen and Deadwood won the prize and in 1999 Deadwood, Huron, and Winner won!

To encourage buyers to purchase in multiples rather than singles, extra tickets will be included in a $50 (6 tickets for a $8.33 value per ticket) and $100 (13 tickets for a $7.69 value) purchase.

The top statewide seller per month was eliminated; only one free membership per Lodge will be awarded this year to the top Lodge seller. The Grand Prize is $2000, 2nd $750, 3rd $400, 4th $200, 5th $100, and 6th $50.

Lodges will receive 10% of dollar amount of tickets sold rather than $1.00 per ticket (because of multiple ticket deal).
