2000 – 2001 MEMBERSHIP/LAPSATION PROGRAM
The Membership – Lapsation Program for the 2000 – 2001 Association year is designed to continue implementation of the strategy adopted by the Association at the 1999 – 2000 Spring Workshop to attain an increase in membership of 20 percent by March 31, 2002.
This year’s program is built around the theme "Operation Positive Attitude" to focus on developing and projecting "a can do attitude" that will produce a sustainable change in membership recruitment and retention. The goal set for the state this year is:
Stabilize membership in all local lodges and produce
a five percent
net membership gain statewide.
The State Association’s goal supports GER Rumney’s goal for the Order of Elks of:
Plus 1 gain for each Lodge through active recruitment,
Reinstatement of 10 percent of current Lodge membership and a reduction
in lapsation to less than two percent.
Operation Positive Attitude was introduced at the Leading Knight held during February and kicked off at the membership seminar and roundtable at Spring Workshop. Key elements of Operation Positive Attitude include actions both at the local and state level. Local Lodge activities center on:
